The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

The Rock and Roll Hall of fame is filled with the famous and infamous, and sits proudly at the outskirts of Cleveland with it protruding architecture. A museum filled with legendary relics of the worlds most talented musicians. I was surprised to find that not only does the Museum transport you into a world of musical bliss, but it also offers a wide range of access, and programs that create a meaningful impact to all those who enter its halls.
I was surprised to see how prepared and accessible this museum was. Every floor contained Elevators, escalators, and large print signs making it easy to see and understand where you are going. Another interesting addition were warning signs that prepared you for louder music, or a change in lighting. It was nice to see this type of inclusion in such a well-known museum.
Furthermore, another great addition was all the interactive material that was available for visitor use. At one point the museum offered individuals to cast their ballot, to see who they wanted to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. It was a great example on how you get your community to be a part of your museum. When people feel like they have a voice, it might make them more inclined to give your business, and visit again.
Moreover, the museum also had individual booths that allowed you to go in, and make a short video clip about your connection to music. I feel that this was a great way to get your audience to connect to the museum and give it a more personal feel (as the video was sent directly to the costumer’s email after recording). The museum also contained a pinball arcade that allowed participants to scan their tickets/bracelet, and receive coins to play. Personally, I felt nostalgic screaming at the machine as the ball went right out of my reach!
In short, I believe that Cleveland’s Rock and Roll Hall of fame is a great representation of a fun, interactive, and interesting museum. A museum that’s easy to revisit, as each visit you might find something new that you never saw before.
